After several years of collaboration, in September 2004 Carlo Valtolina and Umberto Freddi establish studio Ellisse.
The practice operates in the fields of architecture and engineering, and its work ranges from civil and industrial building design to urban planning.
The working method of Ellisse is based on an iterative process which consists of continuous investigation on and reexamination of simultaneous and mutually complementary aspects of solutions and architectural design: integration of the project specific components, clients’ needs and thorough analysis of the context where the building will stand.
The attention paid to clients’ needs entails their direct involvement in all project phases: clients are invited to express their ideas and requirements which are then translated into forms, spaces and colors.

It is from the fusion of such elements and from the awareness of the fact that every project should fit into a sustainable life cycle process that the most suitable shapes and materials are chosen, to create a building in harmony with the surrounding environment.
The studio makes use of the most advanced information technology in the field of three-dimensional modelling, in order to integrate the design phase with the subsequent construction stage.
Ellisse relies on the advice of specialists with whom they create dedicated teams, thus ensuring an ideal answer to each project’s peculiarities.
